CLASSES IN THE WORKS FOR JANUARY - MAY

Arts After Work
Starting Monday January 5, 2009.  This new series of arts activities is made for adults on the go who want a quick, fun, energy-filled art experience during happy hour once a week. The series is all about fun as you engage in a creative activity with the camaraderie of friends. Some of the activities planned include group juggling, painting martini glasses and tai chi. The group activities begin at 5:30pm and run about an hour. Call the Arts Center for more details.

Colored Pencils
Tuesdays, January 20 and 27 and February 3, 6:30-8:00 pm     $35/$45   Linda Ova will explore the use of colored pencils in  drawing.  Pencils and Paper will be provided.

A Day with Clay
January 24. One-hour sessions between 10am & 4pm.  Artists will share some of their experience at this workshop on wheel and hand building clay techniques.  Take this time to start exploring the art of creating ceramics in the newly renovated Arts Center Annex. Open to all ages.  Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.  $5/$7 per hour.

Week Night with William
This 6 week series with visiting artist William Hessian will explore a different art related activity every week, including art appreciation, sculpture, kiragami and printmaking.  Thursdays January 29, February 5,12,19,26 and March 5  from 6-8 pm, $45/$55.

Pysanky Eggs

Monday & Tuesday March 23 &24   6:30-8pm    $20/$30    All materials provided.

Soft Pastels
Saturdays March 28 and April 4  1pm-4pm  $45/$55 Materials provided
Shelly Sauer will teach a two day workshop on the use of soft pastels.  A sample of her work is hanging in the Arts Center office.

Marbling
Monday March 9 and Wednesday March 11 6:30-8:30 $35/$45 with Artist in Residence Mary Zimmerman. 

Polymer Clay Pendant
Friday April 24 6:30-9pm and Saturday April 25 10am-1pm Create faux jade, coral, turquoise and amber with polymer clay. Shelly Sauer taught a popular polymer clay class three years ago and is back with new techniques.  This class is for students new to polymer clay and those with more experience. $55/$65

2009 Arts After School for 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade

Arts After School has changed!  Now its for children in 3rd, 4th and 5th.  This was done because we now have a special, trial Middle school Arts After School.  Go to Arts After School page to download this flyer and call 701-251-2496 to sign your children up for these classes.

William Hessian (MR. Billy) is teaching all the sessions except Music and Drawing and Painting with Oil Pastels.
