Effective September 30, 2008 Sherry Schutt of Yoga Journey, certified yoga instructor, will be offering a variety of Yoga classes. Schutt takes a light-hearted approach to teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga which incorporates fluid movements with deep, rhythmic breathing. Linking movement with breath enhances the health benefits of each pose, including greater muscular strength and tone, increased flexibility and joint mobility, improved circulation as well as creating a more focused, calm, meditative state of awareness. This class is suitable for beginners or those at intermediate level.

Happy Hour Yoga Class 5:30pm – 6:30pm. This class will be designed for intermediate/advanced students who wish to add more challenge to their yoga practice. This class will have more flowing movement and challenging poses while still offering instruction and hands-on-adjustments to deepen their yoga experience.
Yoga Basics Class 6:30pm – 7:30pm. The class will be designed for those individuals new to or beginning their yoga journey. It will also provide an avenue for those who have experienced yoga but wish to perfect their yoga poses with more attention to breath and body alignment through instruction, hands-on-adjustments and slow, flowing movement.
All Classes are Tuesdays & Thursdays unless noted below.

Become inspired....the Arts Center offers adult classes for beginners to experienced artists. Join us for classes in drawing, pastels, watercolors, mixed media, ceramics, collage, jewelry and more.....
INLAID MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE - Join our exhibiting artist-in-residence, Jari Chevalier, to create fabulous images with exacto cut pieces of paper and other materials inlaid to form images on canvas. The workshop will include instruction in developing meaningful images, designing a canvas, and Jari’s collage inlaid technique. Each participant will create a minimum of two works of art. Classes meet Tuesday’s September 9,16,23,30 and October 7 &14. 6:30-8pm, $65/$75. Materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own materials for a personal touch.
CALLIGRAPHY - Learn a new skill during this 4-session calligraphy class taught by Angela Seitz. Class will meet from 6-7pm on September 16,18 and October 7 and 9. There will be a fee of $25/$35. Supplies will be provided. If you wish to order your own supplies please request a class supply list.
EXPLORING YOU CREATIVITY THROUGH WRITING? JARISCOPE FOR WRITERS Learn to maximize your innate skills, creativity and insight for writing as an art form. Learn how to tap into your memory and imagination to write stories that stir the emotions and intrigues the minds of others. Warm-up with mind-body, sensory awareness, stress reduction, inquiry and intuitive techniques. Never face the blank page with a loss for words again. Classes meet Thursday’s October 2,9,16 & 23, 6-9pm, $100 members/$120 nonmembers.
JEWELRY - Add a sterling and turquoise** chunky style bracelet to your jewelry box or make it for someone on your gift list. Class fee includes all of the materials you will need to create this eye-catching piece. Fee is $55 for members and $75 for nonmembers. Class will meet Saturday, October 4 from 10am to 2pm. Bring your own lunch. **The kit may include simulated turquoise based on cost at time of purchase.
ARTOBERFEST - Family workshop in The Arts Center’s Art Park Sunday, October 5 from 2-4pm. Come build a family scare crow, compete in a pumpkin rolling competition and enjoy cider and cookies. Registration is required and the family fee to participate is $5 for Arts Center members and $7 for nonmembers. In case of inclement weather the event will be canceled and your fee will be refunded.
FAMILY CERAMICS - Need a gift idea for the impossible to buy for grandparent? Create a ceramic birdhouse while working as a “family” group. Each family should include at least one adult and one child, but may include up to six members. October 11,18 and 25 & November 1. Fee for the family is $35/$45 which includes 4 sessions of instruction, clay, glazes and firing of your finished piece. 10am - 12 noon.
BEGINNING DRAWING - You think you can’t draw? Let artist Linda Ova prove you wrong and open you up to the fun exploration of the world through drawing. Linda will teach beginning drawing on Tuesday’s, October 21, 28 and November 4, 11 from 6:30-8pm All materials will be provided. Fee is $30 for Arts Center members and $40 for nonmembers.
MARBLING - November 3 & 5 6:30-8:30pm, $35members/$45 nonmembers. We are fortunate to have artist Mary Zimmerman in our community for two weeks. While she is here she has offered to share her wealth of knowledge of the ancient art of marbling. This class is for beginners and the more advanced marbler. All supplies are provided
WOODCARVING WORKSHOP - Woodcarver Gen Jansen from St.Cloud, MN. $32 for class includes wood blank, Saturday, November 8 & Sunday, November 9.
