“CAR” ART NEEDED - Autoworks: Visions of Vehicles
The exhibition following the Annual Show will feature works of art that represent some aspect of automobiles. We have many race car enthusiasts and classic car fans in Jamestown and staff thought it might be fun to show art that depicts or relates to automobiles. This could be drawings, paintings or photographs of cars and trucks or sculptures, ceramics or assemblages of car parts. There are also folks out there who are painting actual cars with spectacular images and graphics. Of course we can’t fit a car in the gallery but maybe we could show a design draft or door panel. This exhibit can be as creative as our imaginations allow - perhaps you can think of something that we haven’t! We are asking for people to contribute “autowork” from their collections or make something “car/truck-associated” to be displayed in the Arts Center’s gallery from June 24 - July 31, 2010. Jamesotown’s Classic car show will be happening downtown once again this year - the banquet for the Car Club will take place in the Arts Center’s gallery on July 10, 2010. So there will be many people to enjoy this unique exhibit. |
