Find hidden art and win prizes! THE BIRDING DRIVE! The fifth annual Art Hunt created by Minneapolis artist William Hessian challenges' residents to find his original art. Unlike previous buffalo art hunts, this year hunters need to search for hidden art featuring birds of North Dakota hidden in public parks.
The Jamestown Art Center location will posts all visual clues in the building's windows, and the artist's personal website http://www.williamhessian.com/projects/jamestown2010.html will feature the clues as they are published. Clues will be released each day to help hunters find the miniature buffalo and win prizes. All winners and art hunters are invited to send in pictures to be added to the website gallery.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since the art will be hidden indoors, please be respectful of all property. All art ishidden in plain sight: meaning you will not need to climb, dig, or move anything to find the art. There is a limit of one artwork per family. You are welcome to try and find them all, but please only take one! This will help everyone enjoy the hunt.

“CAR” ART NEEDED - Autoworks: Visions of Vehicles
The exhibition following the Annual Show will feature works of art that represent some aspect of automobiles. We have many race car enthusiasts and classic car fans in Jamestown and staff thought it might be fun to show art that depicts or relates to automobiles. This could be drawings, paintings or photographs of cars and trucks or sculptures, ceramics or assemblages of car parts. There are also folks out there who are painting actual cars with spectacular images and graphics. Of course we can’t fit a car in the gallery but maybe we could show a design draft or door panel. This exhibit can be as creative as our imaginations allow - perhaps you can think of something that we haven’t! We are asking for people to contribute “autowork” from their collections or make something “car/truck-associated” to be displayed in the Arts Center’s gallery from June 24 - July 31, 2010. If you would like to help out with organizing this show or have an “autowork” to share, please contact Sally Jeppson, Gallery Manager, 701-251-2496 or email sjepp@daktel.com.
Jamesotown’s Classic car show will be happening downtown once again this year - the banquet for the Car Club will take place in the Arts Center’s gallery on July 10, 2010. So there will be many people to enjoy this unique exhibit.

Biography: A fresh new face in the midwest, Joe Dretsch is a soulful blend of talent and passion. A musician, singer, and songwriter from Frazee, Minnesota, Joe's natural ability has captured audiences at hundreds of shows in the past few years. Add to the mix “utility guy” Bryan Loweree, and you’ve got a dynamic duo that can go from waltzes to modern rock and back again.Sporting only acoustic guitars and a bare bones percussion set, Dretsch and Loweree draw crowds most full bands envy.Fresh off Midwest tours including venues in Wyoming, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and South Dakota, the duo have shared the stage with local favorites 32 Below and Nashville recording artists Emerson Drive.Their laid back style, vocal harmonies and onstage joking resonate with country, pop, rock, and oldies fans alike.
Critics Say: “the kid has a little somethin’-somethin’… This is probably the most engaged-I have seen our audience in the 9 years I have been year. He’s a keeper. “
Chris Mikkelsen, Director of Student Activities, Normandale Community College – Bloomington, MN
