The Arts Center, Jamestown, North Dakota
Responsibilities:
Teach Arts After School Program (AAS) for students in grades 4-6. Class meets Monday - Friday from 3:45 - 5:00 PM. The artist may use the rest of the day and the weekends for studio time or as desired. Stipend is $375 per week.
Additional Opportunity:
Artist may also teach in elementary schools from 12:45 - 1:45 and 2:00 - 3:00. The stipend for both School Residency and the Arts After School program is $600 per week.
Exhibition Opportunity:
Artists who are contracted far enough in advance (at least 6 months) may have the opportunity to exhibit in the Arts Center Gallery while they are in residence.

- Living quarters-furnished one bedroom apartment adjacent to The Arts Center

Facility:
The Arts Center is operated by the Jamestown Fine Arts Association that has been in existence for over 36 years. Located in downtown Jamestown it serves over 350 members and a community of approximately 16,200 people. The Center's current facility was renovated in 1981 and features a 2000 sq. ft. exhibition space, a performance/stage area of approximately 400 sq. ft., and three classroom spaces. Exhibitions are rotated monthly and include artists with local and national reputations. One classroom is dedicated to ceramics and kiln operation and the others are used for all media. The stage is utilized for theatrical, musical and dance performances. Performers include local students as well as national performers.

- Visual artists should submit a minimum of 20 slides; writers and performing artists should submit CD, audio or videotape if available.
- Submit 1 page describing 3 teaching program outlines (please indicate grade level, time required and materials needed).
- Submit references, both personal and professional.
